SENKO Group Environmental Policy

Environment Philosophy

To ensure that the Earth which we pass down to future generations will continue to be blessed with a bountiful natural environment, the SENKO Group will strive to become a leading environmental company. To that end, we will fulfill our responsibility to the future and live up to the expectations placed on us by society by undertaking an ongoing program of environmental protection activities across all our business operations, for example through voluntary and active efforts to reduce environmental impacts and through efficient use of resources.

Basic Policy

  1. 1.We will comply with environmental laws and regulations, ordinances, agreements, and internal rules, and we will undertake a voluntary and ongoing program of environmental protection activities as a good corporate citizen.
  2. 2.Our executive management will work to improve environmental performance on an ongoing basis by establishing environmental targets, putting in place structures to promote environmental activities, and implementing environmental management.
  3. 3.As a logistics company, we will not only help customers implement efficient logistics to reduce environmental impacts from procurement through disposal, but also work to reduce environmental impacts from the perspective of the product life cycle, including in trading, information, and other businesses.
  4. 4.We will work to spread and raise awareness of environmental targets on the part of all SENKO Group employees, subcontractors, and affiliates.
    We will also work to actively disclose information about our environmental activities to stakeholders.

Implementing an Environmental Management System

SENKO Co., Ltd., has earned certification under ISO 14001, an international standard governing environmental management systems, and it has earned Green Management Certification from the Foundation for Promoting Personal Mobility and Ecological Transportation, an organization that operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

In addition, we began replying to a CDP-administered* questionnaire about climate change in 2020. We received a “B” evaluation based on our response to the 2022 questionnaire, which assigns respondents a rank ranging from “A” to “D” (or “F” for no response).

*CDP: A UK-based international non-profit organization that surveys and evaluates leading companies worldwide concerning the risks and opportunities associated with climate change, water, and forestland.
