The global importance of initiatives to realize a sustainable society is growing, and companies are being called upon to work towards that goal.

The Group’s Sustainability Policy commits it to “deliver new value by helping realize a sustainable environment and society, working to achieve sustained growth for the Group, and connecting people and society through its various businesses,” and we follow that strategy by striving to provide value to help resolve a variety of environmental and social challenges.

With regard to environmental initiatives, the Group’s customers have also been striving sustainable management throughout their supply chains, and those efforts have intensified recently. The Group is pursuing initiatives to realize a carbon-neutral society along with its customers, for example by offering a variety of proposals that center on its logistics businesses.

With regard to social initiatives, the Group has pursued an ongoing slate of pioneering human resources development programs in keeping with its belief that a company is its people, including by opening Crefeel Koto, an education and training facility, and SENKO University, its in-house university. Those programs go back more than 30 years to a time when the expression “human capital” was not yet in use.

The Group is also distinguished by its implementation of health management to help employees maintain and improve their health over the course of their lives and its environmental (E), social (S), governance (G), and health (H) initiatives, which it has identified as material factors (materiality) for the purpose of its sustainability activities.
